The Faculty of Law and Sharia is one of the distinguished academic institutions of the prestigious University of Nyala. Established as one of its faculties, it fulfills the mission and objectives of higher education through teaching, scientific research, and community service. It is my pleasure to welcome everyone—faculty members, students, and staff—to this leading Faculty, which has long produced leaders in legal thought and decision-making, and has provided society with enlightened professionals in various legal fields, including academia, the judiciary, legislation, the executive branch, and others.

Believing that the student is the cornerstone, outcome, and ultimate purpose of the educational process, and that preparing students to face life and its challenges is the Faculty’s primary objective, we strive steadily to provide distinguished education that meets the needs of society. Our goal is to prepare highly competent professionals equipped with theoretical and practical knowledge in legal and Sharia sciences, capable of achieving excellence in their fields, becoming leaders in their institutions, role models for others, the finest of the present, the hope of the nation, and the builders of the future.

Dear students, the Faculty of Law and Sharia is not merely a place for acquiring knowledge and education; it is also a fertile environment for developing minds and refining character through the legal and Sharia sciences you study and the practical training you undertake. Therefore, our students are expected to demonstrate behavioral discipline, respect faculty members and staff, uphold the principles of law and respect its supremacy, and adhere to integrity, academic honesty, and truthfulness in words and actions. Upholding noble moral values is among the Faculty’s most important objectives.

It goes without saying that societies advance through the knowledge, ideas, and work of their youth. Therefore, dear students, strive to strengthen yourselves with good values, enrich your minds with knowledge, and invest your time in what benefits you, your country, and humanity. The nation is a trust entrusted to everyone, and it needs your dedication and sincerity. We warmly welcome every diligent, persevering, distinguished, and innovative student to this Faculty, a beacon of knowledge and learning.

Law and Sharia are undoubtedly of great importance in human life, as they constitute two fundamental pillars for building societies and achieving justice within them. The Faculty’s mission is to provide students with legal and Sharia-based knowledge and thought, develop their skills through moot court exercises, seminars and workshops, enrich intellectual development through scientific research, and continuously update curricula to keep pace with emerging developments. Congratulations to you on being part of this prestigious institution, where students learn the principles of truth, justice, law, order, and ethics.

As successive administrations and academic staff of the Faculty have worked diligently to achieve the highest standards of quality in higher education, the current administration continues along the same path with firm steps and ambitious plans aimed at advancing education, scientific research, and community service in the fields of legal and Sharia studies. This includes providing an appropriate and stimulating environment for creativity and excellence and applying comprehensive quality standards to our programs and curricula in order to achieve the objectives of the Faculty, the University, and higher education.

After more than twenty years of the Faculty’s rich journey, beginning in 2003, its graduates have distinguished themselves as leaders in the legal profession. This is reflected in their outstanding performance in the Legal Profession Regulation Examination (Equivalency Examination) and their success in the labor market, where a significant number of graduates have been employed by state institutions, particularly within the various judicial and legal authorities.

The same is true in the private sector, where many of our graduates have joined the legal profession and worked in legal consultancy for numerous companies and private institutions both inside and outside Sudan. We therefore invite everyone to join the Faculty, and we encourage our graduates and all legal professionals working in various fields to further develop their skills and expertise by enrolling in the postgraduate programs offered by the Faculty.

In conclusion, I extend my sincere gratitude to the University administration, the Faculty’s professors, and its staff for their continuous dedication and efforts in serving the Faculty, the University, and the community. We wish our students, faculty members, and graduates every success and guidance.
