Establishment of the Faculty
The Faculty of Veterinary Science was established in 1991 as one of the faculties of Al-Fateh University of September. It later became a nucleus for the University of Nyala, which was established in 1994.
The Faculty awards a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science after five years of study and comprises the following departments: Clinical Studies, Pathology, Microbiology and Parasitology, Animal Production, Preventive Medicine and Public Health, Anatomy, and Physiology, in addition to the Small Ruminants Research Center.
The Faculty has graduated 25 cohorts of veterinary doctors who have contributed to the field through their professional competence at both the local and international levels.
Eight professors have successively served as Deans of the Faculty:

Its academic programs include specialized courses such as Tribal Reconciliation Issues, Principles of Conflict Resolution, Human Rights in Times of Peace and War, Sudanese Studies, Contemporary Issues, International Diplomatic Law, Maritime and Environmental Law, and Forensic Medicine.
The Faculty currently has more than 1,000 undergraduate students.
