 Address of the Director of the Institute (On the Occasion of Launching the 2026 Plan)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Dear colleagues, innovative researchers, and our partners in the journey of science and development,

Since the inception of the Institute of Molecular Biology at the University of Nyala in 2010, we have set a noble goal before us: for this institute to serve as a bridge connecting the latest scientific advancements in molecular technologies with the needs of our community and people in Sudan and the broader region. Today, as we look forward to the horizons of 2026, we announce a major transitional phase in the institute’s journey.     

Our strategic plan for 2026 is not merely a set of academic goals, but rather a “Pact for Excellence and Innovation.” Today, we are moving from the phase of establishment and technology localization to the phase of “Global Reach and Digital Transformation.” Our upcoming vision rests on three core pillars:

1. International Scientific Governance: Activating the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB), which comprises an elite group of international scientists, to ensure our research aligns with global standards.
2. Digital Innovation: Integrating bioinformatics and artificial intelligence into the core of our molecular research, alongside adopting smart learning platforms such as the Classera platform.
3. Sustainability and Impact: Strengthening transboundary research partnerships and attracting competitive grants to ensure our laboratories remain vibrant hubs of original research serving human, animal, and plant health.

With its distinguished infrastructure and specialized departments in molecular genetics, infectious diseases, cancer, and developmental biology, the institute remains fully committed to supporting our researchers and students in publishing their work in top-tier international journals, ensuring that the name “University of Nyala” stands as a synonym for research quality.

I invite you all to stand hand in hand in executing this plan, so that together we may build a future grounded in knowledge, driven by innovation, and dedicated to serving humanity.
