Research Centers at the Faculty

The Faculty of Engineering Sciences seeks to promote applied scientific research and link it to development challenges through three specialized research centers:

1. Water Harvesting Center

Objective:
To conduct applied studies and research in water resources, irrigation water management, water harvesting, and water treatment to serve South Darfur State and other regions of Sudan.

Key Research Areas:

  • Sustainable water solutions for rural areas

2. Building Materials Development and Research Center

Objective:
To develop innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions in building materials and construction, with a focus on locally available building materials and reconstruction technologies.

  • Locally sourced building materials

  • Building restoration and maintenance

  • Sustainable architecture

3. Renewable Energy Research Center

Objective:
To contribute to addressing the energy crisis through applied research in renewable energy and energy efficiency, while supporting national projects in this field.

  • Solar and wind energy

  • Biogas energy

  • Hydropower

  • Hybrid energy systems

  • Energy efficiency in buildings and industry
