The University of Nyala’s Faculty Promotions Committee approved the promotion of 32 faculty members from various colleges during its first meeting of 2026, held at the university’s coordination office in Khartoum State and chaired by the Acting Rector, Professor Saber Adam Hassan.

The promotions included 3 faculty members to the rank of Professor, 7 to Associate Professor, 18 to Assistant Professor, and 4 to Lecturer.

In a press statement following the meeting, the Acting Rector said that the convening of the Promotions Committee came after a suspension of more than three years due to the war, emphasizing that the resumption of the committee’s work represents an important step toward restoring academic stability at the university.

He added that the promotions represent a significant addition to the university’s various colleges, contributing to strengthening academic stability and supporting the educational process.

He further noted that the committee had received a number of additional promotion applications and would continue processing them in preparation for their approval.
