University of Nyala Signs Cooperation Agreement with Türkiye’s Middle East Technical University

The University of Nyala, represented by its Rector, Professor Saber Adam Hassan, signed an academic cooperation agreement with Türkiye’s Middle East Technical University (METU) as part of an official Sudanese delegation led by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Ahmed Mudawi Musa. The visit aimed to strengthen academic and research partnerships between Sudan and the Republic of Türkiye.

Professor Saber Adam Hassan participated in the visit as part of a delegation comprising the rectors of five Sudanese universities. The program included visits to several leading Turkish higher education institutions, including Hacettepe University, Ankara University, and Middle East Technical University, to learn from their experiences in higher education, scientific research, and innovation. The delegation also held meetings with university administrations to explore opportunities for cooperation, knowledge exchange, and the development of academic and research partnerships.

At the conclusion of the visit, the University of Nyala signed an academic cooperation agreement with Middle East Technical University, alongside the University of Khartoum, Sudan University of Science and Technology, University of Gezira, and Nile Valley University. The agreements aim to expand cooperation in academic and scientific exchange, scientific research, the development of joint programs and projects, capacity building, and the exchange of expertise between Sudanese and Turkish universities.

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Ahmed Mudawi Musa, affirmed that the scientific and academic cooperation program between Sudan and Türkiye would not be limited to the universities that signed the agreements, but would extend to include various Sudanese and Turkish universities. This would contribute to building a broad and sustainable partnership in higher education and scientific research.

This agreement represents an important step in the University of Nyala’s efforts to expand its international academic partnerships and strengthen cooperation in education and scientific research. It is expected to contribute to enhancing academic and research performance while opening new horizons for cooperation and knowledge exchange with Turkish universities.
